New Year. New Blogs.

While it’s been easier for me to be quippy on my Twitter feed, it’s clear that my blog has suffered for it.  Long-form writing has taken a backseat in today’s social media style, leaving me to use 15MM as more of a digital placeholder than something really, actually interesting.

Let’s change that.

The easiest place to begin after such a long hibernation is writing what you know:  Travel, interesting products, sex, fitness and dry humor.  Sure, I’ve got a political voice in there somewhere, but fuck if I’m going to make that a part of what I write.  We already get enough of that- on either side- through social media.  My goal in returning to a regular writing schedule here is to keep things light.  Politics are not light.

I also want you to feel free to email and let me know what you’d like to see.  Seriously.

Now and then, you can expect to see some industry talk, but frankly, things are far less interesting than they used to be.  Very few ‘new blood’ guys are making their mark and those of us who remain have gotten past needing to pull public stunts to keep people talking.  That being said, if there’s something on my mind that’s not exactly a delicately crafted PR statement, I’m still going to say it.  I have that luxury at this point.  You’ve been warned.

And for those of you who are new to this blog (and perhaps have never heard of me), let me give you a quick refresher:

I’m a 30-something fitness loving ginger who started in this business 14 years ago thanks to a mentor nicknamed ‘Hooboy.’  He championed me in a wide variety of ways and in return, I was able to cultivate a circle of clients who became my base.  I see many of these people to this day.  Some of his best advice helped me toughen up, quickly separate the wheat from the chaff and truly learn how to create seamless experiences for those I spend time with.  I feel fortunate to have known him, as his name is now sadly fading from the industry.  He was an incredible human being who taught me to grab life with both hands.

Personally, I’ve weathered national scandals.  I’ve called people out and in return I’ve been called every negative thing you can imagine.  I’ve made mistakes and I’ve bounced back.  I’ve learned a lot from years of being in the public eye and I believe it’s helped me figure out what kind of adult I wanted to become.  When you come to a fork in your road, you have choices…  And thanks to the choices I’ve made, I’m now a happy, well-adjusted guy.

I hope to update 15MM on a weekly basis, even if it’s just a quick blurb, recommendation or wacky observation.  My multiple daily posts/pics on Twitter will continue as normal.  As I mentioned before, if there’s something you want to see or a question you want answered, you can email me or even submit it anonymously on my Q&A page.  I’m here to keep things fun and easy…  And occasionally with a pinch of snark.
